The Our Healthy Kids team had a strong presence at NAIDOC events in Dubbo, Coonabarabran, and Bourke, connecting with hundreds of community members and sparking powerful conversations around children’s health and wellbeing.
A crowd favourite, the “How Many Teaspoons of Sugar?” game helps raise awareness about nutrition and the impact of sugary drinks in a fun and engaging way.
In Coonabarabran alone, we connected with around 300 attendees – including 220 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members.
The Our Healthy Kids regional teams each got involved with NAIDOC events across the state:
- Liverpool Plains Quirindi NAIDOC Day
- Youthie Oztag Gala Day
- Tamworth NAIDOC Fun Day
- Shoalhaven NAIDOC Family Fun Day
- Coonabarabran NAIDOC Community Gathering
- Dubbo NAIDOC March & Community Event
- Bourke NAIDOC Celebration
- NAIDOC at NCIE
Thanks to support from local school Facebook pages and AH&MRC, the reach of these events was amplified across the region.
